The Mission of the Cinderblock Foundation (CBF)
is to provide financial and academic support and
mentoring to disadvantaged and marginalized
students in urban areas.
This mission is accomplished by providing
need-based scholarships, like the Joe Rhym
Memorial Scholarship, that grant recipients access to
the tools, instruction, and opportunity that quality
academic institutions can provide.
CBF believes that well-educated students are able to
avoid certain obstacles that may prevent them from
becoming successful, goal-oriented adults, who are
active in their communities and who positively affect
our society. It is the belief of this foundation that
young people who are exposed to a meaningful
education, endowed with a sense of purpose, and
shown unconditional love and support, acquire the
ability to grow and to achieve great things.
